This is the time of the season when you're supposed to play baseball, and you're supposed to lift yourself up a little bit. We did not do that today. We played two really good teams, and we have to find a way to make these guys believe that we can play with them.

I thought we were really going to hit the ball. I don't know what to say. . . . I thought we were in the game the whole time . . . and then everything fell apart.

I thought he pitched great. He's throwing strikes, and when he lost a couple of times out there, he made adjustments without being told about it. And that was really good to see.

He looked like he got a little stiff out there. When you get ahead 4-0, it's time to bury them. If you want to be an excellent team, that's what you have to do.

I don't like moral victories. We played well, and we made some mistakes, which cost us.

He did his job. It's a good feeling to get this win. The ones you are supposed to win are sometimes the hardest. We did what we had to do.

We made a silly mistake, and 10 seconds later they're within three runs. That's what happens when you don't play smart the entire game. But boy, he hit that ball a long way.

With this team we're cautiously optimistic. It's basically the same team from last year . . . so we're expecting them to do a little bit better than we did last year. But we have a tough road ahead, especially in our district.
