I'm so proud of these girls, I'm tickled. Even though we turned it over some, I thought we adjusted well.

At halftime we talked about some second looks that they had gotten. They're really a scrappy team. I knew we had to go to the boards hard. We discussed that at halftime, and I stressed it quite a bit.
burn chances defense free good luckily miss needed nervous stretch team
I'm always nervous when we miss free throws. Coalfield's such a good team that if you give them chances like that, it's going to burn you, and luckily our defense was right where it needed to be down the stretch to keep them from getting another bucket.

That 3-2 zone gave us some trouble. We broke it up last time with some good shots outside, but we didn't have those going in most of tonight.

The last few years the district has come down to us and them. We get up for them and they certainly get up for us.
girls great proud team wish
There's only one team that doesn't get to feel like this at the end of the year. I wish it wasn't us, but that's how it goes. The girls are disappointed, but we had a great season. I'm proud of how well they've played.

I feel pretty good about our chances. At this point in the season, anything can happen.

They sort of built a comfortable lead, and just started using clock. We did our best to steal the ball or force turnovers, but they were content to just waste time and control the tempo.

It just seemed to happen so quick. It really messed up our rotation. I'm not one to criticize officials, and we don't want to use anything as an excuse, but it just threw off everything we did.

In the first half, we were a little passive on offense. In the second half, Hooper stepped up big, and I challenged her to take it to the goal, and she did that and got quite a few good looks.

She (Jones) is an amazing athlete, and she's the type of girl that can step up and take over the game.
