declining happen lipstick people picture sign statement takes talk wearing
People talk about my image, like I come in two dimensions, like lipstick is a sign of my declining mind, like what I happen to be wearing the day that someone takes my picture is my new statement for all womankind
talk wonder
I like you, but I know you don't know it. I like you so much, I talk to everyone but you. And I wonder what you would think of this little number. I wonder what you would say if you knew.
learned people personal start
After a while, I sorta start to think there is no such thing as private, people don't like to say things that are too 'personal' but you know, if there's anything I've learned doing this for years, it's that nothing is just personal to me, I'm not that unique.
cause joy joyful owes
I do it for the joy it brings, cause I'm a joyful girl. 'Cause the world owes us nothing, we owe each other the world.
cold gaze living mount people pine stone toast
Here's a toast to all those people living on the pine ridge reservation under the stone cold gaze of mount rushmore
begin best seems wonder wrong
Seems like everyone's an actor or an actor's best friend, I wonder what was wrong to begin with that they should all have to pretend.
dirty mean thinking
I think if we can't use the word feminist, if it's some kind of taboo or dirty word, or means you're ugly, or you're angry, or you're not dateable [laughs], then you've just reduced the language by a whole concept.
admit cause certain experience fact personal share stuff talk
Cause to me, it's, there's nothing that's personal and private, it's all universal. There's no experience that I have ever had that's unique. And the fact that there is just certain stuff that we share but don't admit to and don't talk about. You know, what is that about?
anger chalk everytime hard
Everytime I say something they find hard to hear, they chalk it up to my anger, and never to their own fear.
queen
I'm queen of my own compost heap, and I'm getting used to the smell.
bones comfort flesh waiting
Your bones have been my bedframe and your flesh has been my pillow. And I'm waiting for sleep.
thinking
If you turn on the TV, you're going to get a certain palate, and if you go looking underneath the surface, there's a whole lot of stuff there that I think a lot of our generation would be really interested in.
thinking interesting dumb
One thing I do find in the "lost" generation or something is a kind of abhorrence of history, you know, like it's boring, dumb, or just not interesting. I think it's terribly interesting if you can get your head around how it relates to where you're standing right here and now.
thinking grace culture
I think the music industry, for instance, is such a huge, multibazillion-dollar industry and it's become very, very savvy. There's a very short grace period in which actual human rebellion or resistance can thrive before it's co-opted by these huge companies. And all of youth culture is packaged and sold back to us at this furious rate these days. I think it's part and parcel to this corporate encroachment on our lives in general.
