foot national title won
When we won our first national title at Cal-State Fullerton in 1979, it wasn't even filmed. You can't find a foot of film of that game.
apart fell national pitching season staff until won year
Rice's pitching staff fell apart the year after they won the national championship. You just don't know until the season starts.
chance finish good surprises unexpected wonderful
We did feel that there was a good chance he would have to be replaced. It was completely unexpected that he would be able to finish the game. It's one of those wonderful surprises that, every once in while, comes along.
best both college doubt fans home kick personally provide season support team thank tremendous wonderful year
There is no doubt that we have the best fans in all of college baseball. They provide our team with tremendous support each and every year both at home and on the road. Fan Fest is a wonderful way for our team to kick off each season and thank our fans personally for all that they do.
broke finally game ice innings laughing players won
The game was 20 innings and it was cold. We finally won it when the players started getting delirious. They got to laughing and that's what broke the ice - literally.
belong games glad hits judge number team three wins won
I'm glad they don't judge wins by the number of hits each team has. This weekend, we won three games but it didn't belong to us. Every inning was a battle.
almost beginning concentration consistency extremely framework game govern higher level looked rules second separated style supposed team teams within won
The first game (Saturday) we didn't play very well and we still won the game, 5-3. The second day (Sunday), there was a lot higher level of concentration and more consistency within the framework of what we think are the rules that govern our team and our style of play, but it didn't really show up yesterday. Today, it did show up. The two teams really separated themselves. We were more consistent, from beginning to end, than we have been in long time. It's extremely encouraging...It almost looked easy. That's the way it's supposed to look when it's well done.

Kyle has all the right tools, mentally and physically. He's just thrilled by being a baseball player. He's a leader, and he's very adaptable. He's his own guy, and he's a remarkable guy.
chance journey players ready
We have a lot of new players that have a chance to make important contributions. We're just getting ready to take the journey.
added combined good pitching power settle speed
Our added power combined with our speed is interesting, but I'm never going to settle for just power. Good pitching can always take that away.
appeared best harder players playing team understand win
It appeared by the way we were playing that we were the best team and would win this tournament, which makes it even harder for the players to understand or accept. We did our best. They did better.
