You want to beat them on the court, or on the field. But after that, there is a strong fraternity of guys that really bond together, that look out for the betterment of all coaches. I would honestly say that nobody in our profession who's worth his salt enjoys seeing somebody else suffer, or their family suffer due to a termination.

The thing is, Micah Downs, hopefully after today, will not warrant any of our thought process over the next couple months. Our focus needs to be on this team. Obviously, he chose not to be part of it. This is not something that we have enjoyed dealing with at all, and this chapter is closed.
breathe iowa lead state talented teams
Once we got our lead back up to nine, we could breathe a little easier. Iowa State is one of the most talented teams we've played.

From my standpoint, this was sweeter than any of the other ones that I have had, because we started 1-2.

I look around the county, and I see a lit of leagues like ours. With parity a lot of people think that means mediocrity.

It's not anyone's fault. It was just a matter of getting all of the information compiled and contacting the right people to make sure that he had completed all of the requirements.

He showed a play they ran to win a game in the last second with Danny (Manning). We talked about multiple things. He always asks about how everybody is doing here (at KU). He loved coaching here.
deserving hope league policy recognized team whatever wins
I hope the policy is revisited because any team in our league that wins a championship is deserving of being recognized, any sport. Whatever championship it is, you should be recognized by your conference. Obviously, we were not.

I didn't think we were as focused as we should be. I don't consider 25 turnovers answering the bell.
attitude came concerned feeling good playing shots stepping
He had a good attitude when he wasn't playing and he came in and made shots. But he does more than just make shots. He is concerned with being well-rounded and he is doing better defensively. He is stepping up and making shots because he is feeling good about how he is playing.
