The same love that made me laugh makes my cry.
I was wiser at 30 than I am now. My judgment was better at 12. If you look out the windshield of a Hyundai or a Bentley, you see the same road.
I write and sing about whatever I am able to understand and feel. I feel that it is healthier to look out at the world through a window than through a mirror. Otherwise, all you see is yourself and whatever is behind you.
Sometimes in our lives we all have pain We all have sorrow But if we are wise We know that there's always tomorrow.
Please swallow your pride If I have things you need to borrow For no one can fill those of your needs That you won't let show.
That's a common complaint wherever you go. We aren't getting enough.
I want to spread the news That if it feels this good getting used Oh, you just keep on using me Until you use me up
Lean on me when your not strong, and I'll be your friend. I'll help you carry on. For it won't be long 'til I'm gonna need somebody to lean on.
Even if we don't raise the taxes, so much more money is going to come in. That's the only thing the town needs to come out of the 18th century.
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone, It's not warm when she's away, Ain't no sunshine when she's gone, And she's always gone too long, Anytime she goes away.
An' this house just ain't no home, Anytime she goes away.
Don't cheat yourself out of music. Music is one thing. The music business is another thing. Save enough of yourself to keep living anyway. Save enough joy in your heart to enjoy it. Let your reward be in the doing of it.
My real life was when I was just a working guy. You know, it's OK to head out for Wonderful. But on your way to Wonderful, you're gonna have to pass through All Right. And when you get to All Right, take a good look around, and get used to it, because that may be as far as you're gonna go.
No one can fill those of your needs that you won't let show.
