Whether you have 3-4 or 4-3, it's still seven. It's a very flexible defense. One you can really adjust well.
There's only about 6 inches that turns that halo into a noose.
As good as we were, we didn’t win a National Championship until 1993, mainly because we kept losing to Miami on missed kicks. I used to get mad because nobody else would play Miami. Notre Dame would play them, then drop them. Florida dropped them. Penn State dropped them. We would play Miami and lose by one point on a missed field goal, and it would knock us out of the National Championship. I didn’t want to play them, either, but I had to play them. That’s why I said, When I die, They’ll say, ‘At least he played Miami.
I don't mind, as long as y'all don't send me a bill.
It's a David vs. Goliath type of game. They are big and we are not. This game will definitely be won up front. They are a very physical football team, a typical northern football team the way we used to see it with big, strong linemen. And they're veterans. I hate to see that (experience) more than anything.
This game will be another dimension that quarterbacks have to go through to become efficient. This is another test... and it's away from home.
They did what you expect freshmen to do. They needed some confidence. They needed something good to happen but it didn't,
I thought our kids played about as hard and about as good as we could. If we could have eliminated penalties I think we might have won the game. I don't know how many holding penalties we got in the red zone. It seemed like every time we got to the red zone there was a holding penalty, even in the playoff in the end. We were our own worst enemy in that regard.
They've seen what we've been through. I've been there many times. I know exactly how they feel.
Nothing to say except that he was dismissed,
I think in (Wake Forest game) you saw the vulnerability some times. We've got to stay healthy is what it comes down to.
These guys, even though they're young, they're playing a little harder than the last bunch that came through, ... I think they saw a lot of things we weren't doing well, and that we weren't doing what we're accustomed to.
You sure would like to (get Lee in the game), ... We haven't gotten control of a ballgame enough to get him the work that I would like to get him. We might force ourselves to do it earlier this week.
The elite is sitting up there with no losses, ... Then you got the good guys. We just got thrown down with the good guys. Now we just got to win games and go from there.
