best change edgar hitter moved season second switched tom
When the season started, (King) was the No. 3 hitter, and I've always been one to have my best hitter in the No. 3 hole. But Edgar Ramirez started off hot, so I moved him to No. 3 and switched Tom to the second hitter. Then we started winning. I figured, why change something that's working?
continued hit sharp throw trouble walks
The walks and hit batsmen continued to keep him in trouble. He was not as sharp as he has been in his first two games, but he didn't throw that bad. You can't put it all on him.
ball breaking fight gets pull quick quite sharp starter trouble waited
He just wasn't quite sharp enough with his curve. His breaking ball wasn't quick enough at times. When your starter gets in trouble like that, you want him to fight through it, but I probably waited too long to pull him.
handled hope program senior
I like the way he handled the whole thing. I want him to be a part of the program and to go out as a senior the right way. I hope he makes us proud.
bats driving good offense runs swinging
Our offense has really come around. We're swinging the bats well and getting good at-bats. When we get runs on, we're driving them in.
bunch people team
You don't want them to be around a bunch of people because then you'll have a whole team infected. But they should be all right.
coaches deciding hard league placing players sure time
I am sure the other coaches in the league had a hard time deciding where to place our players on the All-Conference team, just as I did placing theirs.
battle good joe last looked scholars-and-scholarship second start strong stuff terribly tired unusual
Joe didn't have very good stuff tonight, and that is not terribly unusual in a second start. After making a strong start last week, I thought he looked a little tired and you have to be able to battle through that.
giving guy knows strike zone
He's a guy that knows the strike zone well. We'll be giving him more opportunities.
loss pitching
I'd say it's a pretty big loss for us. He was well on his way back to pitching for us again.
critical mike missed pitch spots
Mike was not sharp. He missed some spots on critical counts. He can pitch better, and he will.
difference game
That's a game he'll remember. He was the big difference tonight.
ben defines guy hit job number players walk winning
He's a guy that will find a way to get the job done. He's an established hitter, but he'll walk or get hit by a pitch. Any number of things that winning players do, that defines Ben Woods.
game gone inches played
It's a game of inches. The inches just haven't gone our way. I don't think we've played exceptionally well, but we've done enough at times.
