complement creates game good guys mean meet met predicting realize spend spring team time training winning
I don't know much about how it was before I got here, but I can tell you we have a real good team and that creates a buzz. I feel pretty good about our chances. I'm not good at predicting anything, and after you spend a little time in the game you realize expectations don't mean nothing. I want to go to Spring Training and get in the winning mode. I want to meet some of the guys I've never met and try to see what we can do as a team and what we can't do and find a way we can complement each other.
camp days less lose spring work
If I was going to lose any time, I'll lose less than other players. The first 10 days (of spring camp with the Mets), I'm going to go to work and be with my teammates.
finally nice organized spring uniform until
It's nice to finally come out and get into an organized routine. I always say the first day of spring training, you put your uniform on and you don't take it off until October.
country front home opportunity proud puerto represent
I think there's going to be a lot of emotions, having the opportunity to represent your country in front of the home crowd. I'm proud of being Puerto Rican. Obviously, we think this is a big deal.
attention came heard houston jeff last news pay weeks
Jeff Loria in Houston (two weeks ago) came up to me and said, 'Don't pay attention to what you heard on the news last night.' He said, 'You're not going anywhere.' That's what he told me to my face. So that's what I've got to go on.
employee follow front met ownership
I said when I met with the ownership that I'm employee No. 21, ... I'm not going to put myself in front of the team. I'm here to follow orders, and that's the way it goes.
easy tough
We've made it tough for ourselves. It won't be an easy battle. But if we're going to go down, we're going to go down swinging.
driving hits pride
I take a lot of pride in getting big hits and driving in big runs.
fact guys shooting
I would like to think so. The fact if you had all your guys out there and you're healthy. If you are shooting on all cylinders, it is a different story.
exhibition games hurt life playing
We'll be playing exhibition games anyway, so I don't think it will be any different. You can get hurt doing anything. ... You can't live your life scared, so you've got to just go out and play.
sold tickets
Let me put it this way. There are no tickets left. It's sold out.
decision owner turn
That's their decision -- they went that way. I can't do anything about it. I only play first base. I don't want to be a GM. I don't want to be an owner or make their decisions. Turn the page.
present
That's the way it should be. It's not just the present. It's the present and the future.
couple good
It fells good ... for a couple of days.
