I thought, all in all, our boys competed pretty hard.

I think it was a very good time and it was a nice job by our kids. They're all underclassmen. There's three sophomores and a junior there, and that's what's exciting about it. They're starting to figure some things out.
beginning event run running time year
Shelly didn't even want to run this event at the beginning of the year, and to go from that to running a 16.5 this time of the year is just tremendous.
biggest faster fresh knows looking nice opportunity ran
That was the thing we were looking to do was give him the opportunity to get a nice time. I think the biggest thing is he knows he can still go faster ... and the nice thing about it is he ran it with fresh legs.

It allowed us to kind of regroup and slow their momentum down. It wasn't like we were going to stall for the next 11 minutes. It was just a matter of us regrouping and it was like a really long timeout.
building hard pay starting tremendous
I thought he had a tremendous day and that's what we've been building toward. He's been working really hard and it's starting to pay off for him.
boys good individual meet pleased team
We had a lot of good individual performances on the boys side, but those don't always show up in the team standings at a meet like this. I was very pleased with our kids.
consistent counting hoping point shot
We're hoping he could be a 50-foot shot putter. We're really counting on him to be a consistent point scorer for us in that event.
