We've got a really tough road but if we win those three I think we can get the No. 1 seed in the district.

It was a spring break atmosphere and it's tougher to get focused. We didn't sit back and wait for the pitches. We were swinging at bad pitches on 2-0 counts instead of letting them go.

Our philosophy is to work hard and that's all we know how to do. We played Venice baseball like it's supposed to be played.

It's great to see Anderson really step up. He throws strikes and is sneaky fast and hits his spots.

We played the way Venice High is supposed to play. Even if we would have lost tonight, I still would have been proud of the way we played.

We've been trying to get him to stay back and get him to go the other way with two strikes and (Tuesday night) he did it twice. Once the second baseman (caught) it when he hit it hard and the other time he got a hit.

We started last Friday against Southeast with four district games in a row. We had to win them all to be the No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the district. The guys really hit the ball well (Tuesday night) and backed up our pitching.
