I think we knew that we were the underdogs, and I think that was a great position in which to be coming into a final game, and the guys were up for the challenge from the word 'Go!'. Even from the day before the match, we knew that if we played good cricket, we would come out with the Cup at the end of the day.

It started the very next day when we arrived after suffering five consecutive defeats in our regional one-day competition (in October 2005). And I'm sure every member of the team would agree with me that...it was a tough road to travel.

I thought they (New Zealand) had a solid foundation (224 for 1) to propel themselves to a score of 300 but the (West Indies) slow bowlers played an important part in the game and it is obviously something we'll be taking into our thinking tank, I thought we stuck well in the end after they got off to a good start.

We need to go back over the games we've played, try to break it down and see where we went wrong. I think we need to be more mentally tough, a little bit more aware of situations, and close things down when we have teams on the back foot.
