I felt like I could attack the strike zone. The home runs didn't bother me.

Once we got those runs, I felt like I could attack the strike zone. Our offense has been doing that all year, giving us some room and letting us be aggressive.

The guys would score runs for me and I'd give them back. Coming over here, I felt like I pitched well off the bat and then had the two bad ones. It was getting late in the month. It's time to win a game. Things kind of went my way.

Grant is a very smart and vocal player, and I expect him to step up and be the leader of that group. Bolstad has been on varsity a couple years now and he is a terrific player, and Brickl is on the rise towards that as well.

The kids were exhausted but they gutted it out. We showed a lot of heart and did everything we could to get the win.

I think it was more joking than anything else. The fans know the game and what went on. To me, you get traded for a guy like that, it's a compliment, and it gives me an incentive to keep working hard.

It seems like 80 percent of our time is spent on east-side issues. A lot of people have lost sight of the purpose and need for this project.
