I want to work on my overall strength and quickness. It's a guard-oriented conference (Big East). I want to be able to step in right away and be a difference-maker.

He's a special kid for us. You've got two Division I basketball players. You've got E.J. Jones getting all the attention in football and Joe is already getting the attention. Then there's Mark doing his job every day, coming in and just putting in the hard work just like everybody else and not really asking anything in return.

There's been some times where it's been rough. It's not the easiest thing to leave a situation where you're so comfortable at. I know I couldn't have gotten through that without my family and their support.

He definitely helped my love for the game and my competitiveness. He's taught me everything I know and he's done a good job of helping me along the way.

It was just an amazing feeling just to look up and you don't see any empty seats. To come out here knowing you're going to have the gym filled, to come see our team is just an amazing feeling.

The fans were getting into the game after that three. So that run that Mark gave us was huge in stopping them from getting back in the game.

It was just back and forth and nobody could ever get the upper hand. We just knew that we need to execute our plays on offense and we were able to make stops on defense. We knew that they were going to be making plays down the stretch.

Spencer doesn't have to shoot and score to make plays for us. He's our leader. I've said that before and I didn't know he wasn't scoring because he does so many other things so well.

Alton has a great team. You've got to give them a lot of credit. They came out here and played on our court and came out to win. They matched our intensity right from the beginning.

That's what Mark does. He hustles on every play and gets lost in the mix until he does something like score eight points in a row. That was big for us.
accepted embraced great group guys looking realize special welcomed
There could have been guys that went the other way with that. (But) they welcomed me from Day One. They embraced me and accepted me. It was a great group of guys. Looking back on it, you realize how special it was.
along game opportunity pass realized season undefeated
We realized it was an important game for us because an opportunity for an undefeated season doesn't come along very often. And we didn't want to let that pass us by.
