Elwyn Brooks "E. B." White was an American writer. He was a contributor to The New Yorker magazine and a co-author of the English language style guide The Elements of Style, which is commonly known as "Strunk & White". He also wrote books for children, including Stuart Little, Charlotte's Web, and The Trumpet of the Swan. I am pleased that we put forth that effort for catastrophic events, ... But you look back at other events that have taken place that have called for some kind of fundraising or support from students and staff. Our staff and students have always stood tall.
If we can create teachers from our own students from this generation, we will be set for the next generation.
Students really identified with him, especially those with an auto background. He was very outgoing, down to earth and everyone who met him liked him. He was just a nice guy.
Numerous times we've had no one show up after the hour. Students need to be on time. They miss their education if they're not at school on time.
The behavior of the students impressed the administration. They stayed in their seats and kept the aisles clear.
Fair ticket sales are our main concern, seeing how tickets have been selling this year. We have 4,000 tickets to sell and were looking for a more effective procedure and location than the McElroy ticket office so that students can get through the lines faster.
Students returned still in lock-down mode to give teachers an opportunity to take roll. Then, the school went into an abbreviated instructional schedule. We did what we were supposed to do. We went into lock-down. We promptly evacuated the building. And we took the extra step of making sure that all students were accounted for.
It really is a very good barometer, we think, of how active employers are.
As a New York-based sports editor put it to me,
That's been one of the knocks on me, ... that people think I'm not strong. So that's one of the things I want to work on in my last year.
They started cracking jokes, and I said: 'Ain't nothing funny when I have to work the next day.'
This is his hometown. What better way of honoring him?
Energy costs have just gone sky high on us as everyone else. Anything the school system can do to try and conserve energy we are going to do.
