couple figure good job maybe next opportunity pay year
I figure I'll give it a couple of years. I know I have to pay some dues. ... Who knows, if I do a good job this year in St. Lucie, maybe an opportunity will come next year.
blow chances charges club concerning couple dealt decision dropped events fatal globe including india involving jockey proud regular ridden rides winners year
The frustrating events involving some Jockey Club charges concerning my conduct, which were dropped then re-formed, have dealt a fatal blow to my chances of securing more than a couple of regular rides this year and made my decision inevitable. I'm proud to have ridden winners all over the globe including most of Europe, Barbados, Canada, Hong Kong, India and Singapore.
kids years pleasure
He really just wanted to go about his business. I would put Eddie Murray in the same category as Andre Dawson. He would like to kid around with the press and (be surly), but he was a total professional. I see why he is a Hall of Famer. I am just glad I had the pleasure of playing for Eddie (Murray) for one year.
kids years special
To be 49 years old now and still be called The Kid, that's kind of special.
stars years games
Johnny Bench befriended me my first year in the big leagues. He took me under his wing during my first All-Star Game and we've been friends ever since. He's one guy I've tried to emulate and I'll always compare myself to Johnny (Bench).
bottom continue far growing inadequate mark number stagnant uninsured
We continue to be far from that mark here in New Jersey. Once again, a confluence of pressures, ranging from inadequate payments from governmental payers to a growing number of uninsured all contributed to the stagnant bottom lines.
depending early himself leagues needs pitchers quick road rush starting
I think Pelfrey is on a quick road to the big leagues. Of course, you don't want to rush a young pitcher, but depending on how well he does in this league, and with the needs they have for starting pitchers in New York, he may find himself in the big leagues as early as this season.
field replace
I tried the broadcasting thing, the coaching thing, but I'll never replace the competitive feeling of being out on the field when we were players.
knows mound presence star wants
His presence on the mound is just amazing. He's well prepared. He's intelligent. He knows what he wants to do out there. I just think he's going to be a star in this game.
call dodgers five four hitters loves office pitch starts
He loves to pitch in, and you could tell the Dodgers hitters weren't able to swing. I want to be able to call a Pelfrey into my office four to five starts from now to say, 'Hey, you're going to the big leagues.' That's what it's all about.
gotten script
I have may gotten away from the (offensive) script a little,
beat call depression maybe phone saved somebody start tells
When somebody tells you that something could have been done, that maybe a phone call to 911 could have saved him, that's when you start to beat yourself up. I think that's when the depression set in more than anything.
quite
We're 20 years older, so it's not quite going to be the same.
arms jump
I'll let him jump into my arms this time.
