definitely guy hat quality tip
I've got to tip my hat to Lacy because he definitely pitched well today. He is a guy they look to to give them a lot of quality innings, and he was really competitive today.
figured season stage win
I am just disappointed that at this stage of the season we haven't figured out how to go about doing the things we need to do to win games.
daily improvement personally seeing surface team
I am disappointed because I see a team that is 4-8 right now and on the surface is struggling. But I personally am seeing more and more improvement on a daily basis.
direction game hard learning strides using
It's really hard to tell. We just have to keep working on things, stressing things and using game experiences as learning experiences. I think we have made strides in the right direction but we have to keep making strides.
ahead good kick known tail
He got ahead in the count, and he located really well. We've always known he is a good pitcher. Sometimes you just need something to kick you in the tail a little bit. He responded today.
blowing friday game guys huge hung
It was huge for us. After blowing a game on Friday and then getting boat-raced on Saturday, these guys showed some character. They hung in there and they bounced back.
evident home last
He's so strong. It's evident by the last home run. He got jammed on it.
attitude guy kept saw special spirit takes utterly
He couldn't have done anything more for us than what he did. To his credit, he kept up his attitude and his competitive spirit and his focus. It takes a special guy to do that because what you saw (from the defense) was just ridiculous, utterly ridiculous.
ended gave job key needed ninth nobody walk winning
He did more than he needed to do. He did the job because nobody could do the job (on Saturday). Unfortunately, he just gave up that key walk in the ninth that ended up being the winning run.
concentration defense excuses focus game pathetic simple witnessed
Our defense is just pathetic right now. At this level, there is no excuses for what we have witnessed and what we are witnessing. That is a simple part of the game and it has nothing to do with inexperience. It is a focus thing and a concentration thing.
plays
And you shouldn't say many because it plays pretty true.
lay move plays runners team together
This team has to do things together more than any team in the past. We have to do the little things that make a difference. We have to move runners over and lay down bunts and make plays on defense. This team is more like that than any team here ever before.
base drove hits win
Two-out base hits that drove in runs, that is how you win games.
bit needed
We needed to get him a little bit of time, but not too much.
