I thought our interior defense was outstanding. They're a great shooting team. You have to pick your poison with great teams. We chose to try to stop them inside and stay out of foul trouble. We know they were going to be shooters but hopefully you can wear them out in four quarters (and) she made a great shot.

It's funny, we usually shoot pretty well (at the Shirk Center). Regardless at how bad we shot, we were still ahead at halftime and we wore them out.

(Her return) is huge. The mental aspect was great and the girls responded.

You never know what'll happen. We're four good quarters away from Redbird Arena.

It's not too much fun coming up two points short of playing for the state championship. But don't fault our kids. We fought them tooth and nail, and if we have a couple plays go our way we'd be sitting in different chairs right now.

Everybody thinks it's the press that we score off of, but it's the defense.

We dominated this game from the start. Our overall effort was great and the kids were ready from the start.

We talked about the first four minutes (of the second half). We got those first four points and they knew we could score in spurts.

You had a couple of plays that need to go a different way and we'd be sitting in a different chair.
defense pushed tempo
We still pushed the tempo when we had the opportunities to. They slowed it down but our half-court defense was pretty sound.

We blew an assignment and she made the shot.
easier everybody
We won't box-and-one her. She's going to score. It's just that you've got to keep everybody else in check. That's easier said than done.
