definitely run took trying
More than anything, I was trying to find a way to get out of it with one run in. When I got to two outs, I definitely wasn't going to give in to him. I took what I could and I went right at (Sanders), and I was able to get a strikeout.
trying overcoming hard
I prided myself on working as hard as I could, trying to overcome a learning diability.
trying hours miles
I can't try to throw 110 miles per hour. I've got to pitch under control.
ball caliber came execute flew guys kinds middle miss open trying
I just didn't execute it. I was trying to come in, and I flew open a little bit, the ball came back over the middle of the plate, and guys of that caliber just don't miss those kinds of pitches.
crowds great
I think we're going to have a lot more crowds like this. We've got a great team, and we're going to be in it for a long time.
eagle enjoy fast fourth fun job last opening sat sit stuff taken watching worried year
Opening day last year went so fast for me it was like I didn't really get to enjoy any of the stuff that went on because I was more worried about what was my job and going out and pitching. This year it was kind of fun to be able to sit back. I think this is the most I've actually taken in from opening day, watching the B-1 come over and the eagle and stuff; that was incredible. This is my fourth one, but I feel like this is the first one where I really sat and watched.
fine help knew talked
We had already talked a little about it. I knew what was going on. I'm fine with it. Any way I can help the team.
broken happy hurt shock
I thought it was broken at first. I won't say that it hurt so much as it was the shock of the hit. I'm just happy it is what it is.
guy open wants
Kenny's a very open guy. He's not a guy who's not going to tell you stuff. He wants to make you better.
cry sit
That's the way it goes, man, ... What are you going to do? Can't sit here and cry about it.
control spot whatever
I still have to do my job. In whatever spot you're in, in the rotation, all you can control is what you do.
count gave pitch sitting
You have to come in on him. But you have to do it on a better count than 1-1. He was sitting on one pitch and I gave it to him.
arm campaign feels good help next wanna
If it feels good (today), I'll probably campaign to make my next start, ... I'll get in there eventually. My arm feels better. I wanna go out and help the team.
great
He's been great so far. We're all on the same page.
