The game of basketball goes in runs, and you hope your runs are better than their runs. It's kind of bittersweet because we won't be able to come back and defend our title. The timing is unfortunate, but we're leaving on a high note.

It wouldn't matter what year this was, winning a league title ... we didn't even dream of that at the beginning of the season. We lost four starters from last season, so we're a young team and the future looked bright. We just didn't think the future would be here yet.

It was a tough, hard-fought game. We?re glad to come out with the victory. The girls just knew they had to play good defense, and they made the plays when they had to.

Everything we do starts with our defense. I started to watch them stand around in the second quarter, so I just challenged them at halftime to dig deep down.

We have three solid scoring threats now. It's a lot harder for defenses to key on only one of our players.
