He's just inconsistent, ... That's understandable because he's a freshman. Matt sometimes kicks it like (former All-America) Harold Alexander and sometimes he kicks it like I do. But he has an extremely strong leg.

It was a big moment for everybody. I felt chill bumps. It was for real, there wasn't anything phony about it. These kids know it's for real. They see something every day about Iraq.

It was a great night. It just speaks for our program, for our school, and for the state of North Carolina. We probably had 1,000 ex-players here. I was telling those guys that they helped set the foundation for everything that was done tonight.

It was a great night. It speaks wonders for our program, our school. I can't say enough about our defense. They were tenacious.
bat compare game last locker players proud room today walking
I can't even compare walking into that locker room today after this game with the way it was last time, ... We were 1-3 (after the 2003 game). I'm proud of these players today. We got down 7-0, but they didn't bat an eye.

Some things got loose last year, and that's my fault. I take responsibility for that. But I feel good about these players. I know what kind of kids we've got. I know what they want to accomplish.

I have never planned on doing anything but be the head football coach at Appalachian and am happy that will be the case for next year and beyond.
