ball care finish hang percent shoot shot
We're going to have to take care of the ball and finish on our shot opportunities. We're not going to get 30 or 40 shot opportunities. We have to shoot well over 50 or 60 percent to hang in there with them.
ball double fed missed player quick ready trouble
I don't think we were ready for how quick they fed the ball in and shot. On offense, we had trouble with their double teams, and when we skipped the ball over to the wide-open player we missed some opportunities.
anchor games loss playing stepping three won
She's really the anchor of our defense. She's stepping up and playing consistently. We wouldn't have won our three games if it wasn't for her and Friday's loss would have been uglier.
conference parity step taken tougher tournament
In our conference, no one has taken a step back. There's going to be a lot more parity and I think our conference tournament is going to be tougher than it has ever been.
arguably best class coming hopefully last looks loss motivating recruiting team year
They have arguably the best recruiting class in the country. They're going to be a completely new team with different looks and different strengths. Hopefully coming off of that loss to them last year is motivating our team. There's no way we can take this team for granted.
consistent effort hard lose played struggling today
You never like to lose in that way, by that margin. But we've been struggling with consistent effort and today everyone played hard the whole game.
beginning ease expected might stress year
Danni had a stress fracture at the beginning of the season, and we had to ease her in. We always expected her to contribute. For her size, you might not expect it, but she's going to have a big year for sure.
attack ball care clock defense discipline good held looked onto plays run today
Our defense looked good because our attack held onto the ball. Having the discipline on the attack to run the plays and take care of the ball is something we haven't been able to do in the past, but today we did. We managed the clock very well.
force key others players score three
You're not going to keep her to nothing, but you want to keep her to three or below. We have to key in on the other players and force the others to score for them.
difference finish game inability taking tying
What really made the difference was our inability to finish on our eight-meter chances. That's the difference between tying the game and taking the lead.
hooking rattled
We had to be disciplined, and we weren't that disciplined in the first half. We got kind of rattled and we just started hooking the ball.
ability egg fashion game immaturity lack laying lose stick
To lose to Stanford, and in the fashion that we did, by laying an egg in the first half, showed some immaturity with our lack of ability to stick with the game plan.
attack continue defensive great improvement improving momentum opportunity room work
We've been improving on a lot of things, but there is still a lot of room for more improvement. This will give us a great opportunity to work on our attack and some of our defensive weaknesses. It's also a momentum builder. We have to continue to play well.
ball care cause foolish great midfield
We made a lot of foolish turnovers in the first half. They're a great team, they're going to cause turnovers, but we've got to take care of the ball in midfield transition.
