Kickers are a little different and you've got to be careful with them because they think too much. Before this ballgame I talked to Joe and I said, 'Joe, just go out there and kick the ball. Don't think about it. Just go out and kick it because there's going to be a situation where we need you in this ballgame,' and sure enough, here it was and he came through beautifully for us.

He loved to meet with people, see how things were going, ... Even though he was retired, he still had a big presence.

Defensively we were playing scared and weren't coming out and being aggressive. Offensively we had to put a drive together and with Caleb hurt, we had to do some things to be able to move the ball. I wish I could say I had a stroke of genius, but I really didn't. When you look at it, we just kind of went back to basics and ran our leads and ran our option and that put us in good scoring range.

They scouted us and watched the West Lyon game. They realized Chris Newman is kind of our feature back and they game-planned to take him out of the ballgame and they did a fine job of stopping him,
