Effort was there and we put ourselves in position to win a big ball game we were right there. We'll learn from it and we have all of our players back next year, so we'll see what happens from here on out.

For a freshman, he's doing a great job of getting ahead in the count and staying ahead. He keeps them off balance. He's able to throw all three of his pitches for strikes. His curve defies gravity. He's going to be a good one.

We were going through the first round of district and I was sitting there thinking I can't wait until the second round so I can see if we have some improvement. It's been 100 percent improvement against everyone and we got a couple of wins in the process. This team played three games in three nights. I was proud that we competed in all three of these games.
