I definitely think we're headed in the right direction. But I definitely think, if you look at our squad, right now we're a middle-of-the-pack team. Everybody has to step up. We've got to keep it simple. I don't think we're going to go out there and dazzle anybody with our brilliance, but at the same time we might win some games just by grinding it out, playing smart and not giving (the other teams) opportunities to score.

There's not a guy in our dressing room who feels down and upset. I mean, obviously, we're disappointed we didn't come out and get the win in the first game. But we have a job to do and that's to get the split (of the first two games). Get the split in their rink and go back to ours and the Fort Wayne fans will lead us to two victories.

It's tough sometimes. Sometimes you just want to turn around and two-hand a guy in the face. But you can't. You've got to just calm yourself down and skate away. It's hard sometimes, especially if the guy got you pretty good and you want to turn around and hammer him.

Every team we're going to play is going to be a better team skill-wise than us. But that's OK. That's OK. It shouldn't alarm anybody. It's just that you've got to (play simple against) other teams to beat them. We have to play the consummate team game to beat them.

It doesn't really matter who our opponent is; it's how we play, not how they play.

You know that if you stand in front, you're going to take a beating. You've got to know that before you get in there and plan accordingly.

You have to be hungry to get there because sometimes it's not the easiest thing to do. Sometimes it's like a fortress, and guys want to slash you and hit you and whack you.
