I think this is a very bad idea. There are hundreds of thousands of children out there who need to be in this program. The focus should be on redirecting resources, on getting them into the program and keeping them in and not take the money out.

We think it will be helpful to have a dedicated group of legislators who are sitting down and looking at issues in a more intense, concentrated way.

The poor are not perceived as voters. You can see that's what legislators think when they make these spending decisions.

In a year when they just announced that they have $3 billion in extra revenue coming in, it seems rather tragic that we're launching a massive experiment with people's lives.
