Let me say that the U.N. resolution, the recent one which was passed on Syria, does not threaten sanctions,
I think we need a clear global understanding of the threats and challenges that we all have to face, because to neglect any one of them might fatally undermine our efforts to confront the others.
New threats make no distinction between races, nations or regions. A new insecurity has entered every mind, regardless of wealth or status.
An enhancement of (U.N.) military capacity will be required to address the threats posed by armed groups in Katanga and contribute to establishing the necessary security conditions for elections in this volatile province.
This is inexcusable. Weapons of mass destruction pose a grave danger to us all, particularly in a world threatened by terrorists with global ambitions and no inhibitions.
