early finds good guy pitchers settled settles surely
A lot of times, if you can get to a guy early before he settles in and finds his control, a lot of times it's how good pitchers get beat. They come out a little wild. I think that's what happened. Once he settled down, he was surely impressive.
dominate gone guy guys human might next realized
But as I've gone along, I've realized that hey, one at-bat the guy might completely dominate you, but the next time, he might make a mistake. Don't be overawed by one at-bat. See that those guys are human too, and they are going to make mistakes.
compete few gritty guys night
It's night and day. We have very few of the same personnel. We don't have too many established guys, but I think we've got guys that are gritty and compete well with the bat.
call caught died fair guy hit home knew last minute reached thinking time watched wondering
I knew I hit it good, but I wasn't thinking home run. The whole time I was wondering if it was going to be fair or foul. I kind of watched and at the last minute it straightened out and died in the corner. The guy reached his glove out and caught it, and I knew they were going to call it at least a double.
guy
He's not a guy who's going to give you a lot of different looks,
fight guys
These guys are unbelievable. They fight you right down to the end,
chances exactly giving guys hits jam kept shot sort themselves
It's was their night. They kept giving themselves chances to score, but a lot of hits were not exactly tattooed. There were seeing-eye grounders and a jam shot and that sort of thing, but give those guys a lot of credit.
bad best career elevates game guy possibly roger season seems seen time
It's really unbelievable. What can you possibly say about it? We're not that bad a team. We don't have that bad an offense. It just seems like every time Roger pitches, the other guy elevates his game. You get the other pitcher's best game of the season -- if not their career -- on that night. I've never seen anything like it.
ballpark certainly doubt favorable good kinds
It's a good place to hit, there's no doubt about that. I don't make too much of those kinds of things, but it's certainly a ballpark that is more favorable for the hitters.
classy respect run
They run a classy organization over there. We have a lot of respect for them.
bringing describe houston series
It's unbelievable, I can't even describe it. To be a big part of bringing the World Series the first World Series ever to Houston is just tremendous.
deal outfield
I can go to the outfield or play first, it doesn't matter. It's not a big deal to me.
facing games left looking point prior seven
You've got seven games left with the Cubs, and you're looking at (maybe) facing (Carlos) Zambrano and (Mark) Prior two times each, ... That's not something you can point to as an advantage.
bats good hit spring year
I don't feel like I'm on fire, but I'm getting my hits. I still have those at bats when I feel like I'm back in spring training. I'm not complaining, don't get me wrong. If I feel like this all year and hit good that's fine.
