It's been a long, hard decision but after looking at the situation and everything, I've decided to consider myself eligible for another year of coaching under (coach) Joe Paterno.

Since I?m the most experienced guy, most of the players look at me. I have to take the time to explain the little aspects, like going out and giving your hardest effort on every play. You have to be tougher than your opponent on every play.

I think I'll have more of a coaching role this spring -- try to teach the young guys what I know.

I think it just took a couple wins, just a couple successes. Not going out and having bad things happen all the time. Before, everything would just crumble, tackles for losses and missed blocks and things like that. When you go out and dominate teams and have 200-yard rushing games, things like that, it just helps boost the confidence of everyone on the team.

They just want to look at the younger guys. There is absolutely nothing wrong with me.
doubting people saying statement work
We still have a statement to make. People are still doubting us, saying that we're overrated, things like that. We still have a lot of work to do.
chance drafted improve leave next status worried
The only way I was going to leave was if they told me I'd be drafted in the first 10 picks. I wasn't really worried about the money. I think I have a chance to improve myself and get that status next year.
