Lloyd Henry Carr, Jr.is a former American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at the University of Michigan from 1995 through the 2007 season. Under Carr, the Michigan Wolverines compiled a record of 122–40 and won or shared five Big Ten Conference titles. Carr's 1997 team was declared the national champion by the Associated Press. Dealing with success is more agreeable than dealing with losing, ... but it's no less difficult. Now we have to deal with all these people patting us on the back. But it's not wise to listen to that because it might distract you from what you need to get done.

I don't think we'd ever treat any school like we were treated at Ohio State. Commissioner Jim Delany has instituted a new rule that if you're going to have something like that, you must notify people beforehand, and that's a thing you'd expect as a general courtesy.

I'm always prepared for change, or at least I try to be prepared for change, at any position. There were a lot of people outside that were considered, and the people we ended up with were quality in every way.

I think it starts - we always start in the state of Michigan. And we did not recruit a large number of guys from this state this year. It already is apparent that next year will be a very good year in this state. We start here, but I think our coaches did a great job. I was in 16 states in 15 days in January, and so we were spread out, and yet I think we've got an outstanding class.

I thought Ross Ryan had a wonderful debut here. I think he's one of those guys that really is a weapon. And imagine a punter running down the field 40 yards or so and recovering a fumble. Ross Ryan is a competitive guy.
