approach drive ethic game learning mental next obviously process stronger type unless work worry
He's young. We all were like that. You're not the type of goalie he is unless you are that competitive and have that drive to be the best. It's a learning process to where you get over that and you worry about it after the game but the next day it's a new day. It's not always easy. But with his work ethic and the way he does things I don't worry. Obviously his mental approach is something he's going to get stronger and stronger at.
bit capable focus helps obviously team trying
Obviously, it helps you feel little bit better because you want to help the team and do the things you're capable of doing. But obviously you want to get more wins. Right now my focus is on trying to do the right things.
great hoping obviously ray smart talent
Ray is a very smart player. Obviously he's got great talent, and we're hoping he's able to come back and make a difference.
feels life obviously
He's got a lot going on in his life right now. And he obviously feels that this is the time.
brought fill grow guys huge identity jersey marty obviously players reason successful veteran younger
They're going to have to grow that identity with some younger players and some of the veteran guys that they brought in to fill that void. You know, the one thing obviously in Jersey is Marty is there. That's a huge reason why they've been successful for so long, as well.
dig great guys hard holes nice night obviously ourselves prepared quitting sign starts sure trying yourselves
It's great we didn't quit, but it sure would be nice to put ourselves in a different position. It's obviously a nice sign when the guys aren't quitting and still trying to do the right things. But obviously we have to be a little more prepared for the starts of games. It's too hard to dig yourselves into holes like this and try to come back every night like this.
hurt obviously seem terrific
It doesn't seem to have hurt him, has it? It's pretty amazing, what he's done. He's obviously a terrific, terrific player.
couple focused frustrated games goes next older responsibility saw stays
(Yesterday) was really the first day I saw him frustrated in practice. We'll see how it goes the next couple games and if need be, the older guys, that's part of our responsibility to see that he stays focused on the right things.
build couple exciting fans hope past per philly pittsburgh tremendous
Pittsburgh has been down for the past couple years, but we'd like to get back in it. Philly has been tremendous and we want to get to that level. It's exciting for the fans when you see each other more times per year. We hope to build more rivalries.
easy losing team trying wear
It hasn't been easy what he's had to do. The team's losing more and he's trying to keep the team in Pittsburgh. It's got to wear on you after a while.
fun great
I think it's going to be great for the game. It's really going to be a fun thing.
fun players premier
Staal is one of the premier young players in this league. It's fun working with him.
advantage
When you get goaltending like that, you have to take advantage of it.
behind early good hockey played until whatever
We don't play good hockey until we get behind for whatever reason. If we'd played like that early in games, we wouldn't get into trouble.
