chris games good job pitching sophomore thrown wonderful
Chris did a wonderful job (in this game). He's a sophomore pitching on the varsity, and he has thrown two really good games now.
broken fought game plate wide
Just the way we fought back after the collision at the plate - they could have broken the game wide open. We executed there.
win
We need to find a way to try to get a win here.
early falling game good
We made good contact, but they were not falling early on. We were more comfortable as the game went on and started to put some things together.
came credit hitters pitcher situation tough
Give their pitcher credit. He came on in a very tough situation and he got our 3-4-5 hitters out. When you get in that situation, we should get one or two out of it, but I give credit to their pitcher. He got us out.
immature
He was so immature and it showed. He made a lot of young mistakes.
chance gave guys kept
He kept their guys off-balance and gave us a chance to win.
bear expect needed senior
You expect that out of your senior pitchers. They know when they have to bear down and get outs. He got outs when he needed to.
grand hit kid
The grand slam, up 7-1, make the kid hit the ball, and he did. I think that would have been out of most parks.
ahead brad commit defense error good job nice
Brad did a nice job of getting ahead in the count. Our defense was solid. We didn't commit an error ? it was a good effort.
good guy hitting jump nick pitches seeing sees
Nick is not seeing a lot of pitches right now because he is the only guy in our lineup that's hitting consistently. When he sees a good fastball, he's going to jump on it.
advantage best chance despite gave good mistakes ourselves pleased runs teams took win
They took advantage of our mistakes and that's what good teams do. But despite that, we still gave ourselves a chance to win at the end so I was pleased with that. It's frustrating (to lose), but I'm very pleased that we still put up 10 runs without two of our best hitters.
danny hurt losing runs spark spot three took top wind
You spot them three unearned runs in the first inning and that kind of took the wind out of our sails. Losing Danny right away, he's the spark at the top of our lineup, really hurt too.
beginning effort fault playing potential step timely
I like the potential we have. At the beginning of the year, we were playing real well, but everybody's got to step up. I can't fault our effort because we play hard, but we're just not getting timely hits.
