Personally, it felt good, but this is a team. It's a team game and to do your job is gratifying, to do things to help your team win is gratifying and I was able to do that tonight.
It's more gratifying to do things that help the team win. Personally it feels good, but at the same time it's a team game. To be able to do your job is gratifying. To be able to do things to help the team win is gratifying. I was able to do that tonight.
Anytime you win a road trip, you've got to take it. We're playing pretty well. This one just got away.
It was important for us to win. You send the fans away with a couple wins and there were big crowds with the series against the Giants. You hope that brings them back and establishes some momentum against the Giants, who we play a whole bunch more times.
It was kind of humbling. It's fun with these type games. When you're on the winning side, it's fun. When you're on the losing side, it's terrible.
We've got some good hitters who aren't necessarily all-or-nothing hitters. I'm mostly sitting on fastballs the whole time and reacting to the off-speed stuff.
I think I just learned that God has a plan for all of us, and I work hard and do all the things I can, but at the same time, His will is perfect; and me trying to control it, it's not going to work.
We can't get all tight because we haven't scored that many runs or whatever. It's just three games. Obviously today was not what we want the rest of the season to be like so you just try to turn the page on this one pretty quick.
When it's one game, especially at this time of year when hitters are still trying to feel their way through it a little bit, it's tough. As a hitter, you're not quite locked in yet.
We're at that level of knowing we can play here and play well at this level. You hate to get really excited ...
I don't want to be considered a leader based on what people think goes on in the clubhouse.
Having experienced things going on two years now, I'm not a veteran by any means, but I feel like maybe I have some advice to offer.
I looked up there after the first six or seven guys and thought, 'We've got one out, and that was me,'
I looked up after six or seven guys had hit and saw we got one out. That was me.
