Patrik Eliáš; born April 13, 1976) is a Czech professional hockey winger and alternate captain for the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League. A career-long Devil and currently the team's longest-tenured skater, Eliáš is the franchise's all-time leader in points, goals, and assists, and he holds the franchise record for the most points in a seasonand the most career game-winning goals. I'm more nervous than excited, actually. I felt okay the past couple of days, no pain, no problem. I feel good conditioning-wise and hockey-wise. It's going to take awhile. I'm a little too quick for my hands right now. My hands are not that good.

They're in a difficult situation; it takes awhile to turn it around. After the new year we're 7-0. And the last couple of games, we haven't played our best games but we've found a way to win.

The most important thing is to focus on our game and that's all.

It helps that they're going well. We were making good plays, spreading the ice pretty well. I didn't want to hold back. I told the coaches that when I come back I want to play, I don't just want to go out there and play a couple of shifts and try to work into it.

We were warned before the game that they are going to keep calling the penalties the way they did in the regular season. This was more emotional today because we know what's on the line.

We don't want to pinch ourselves now. We're feeling good about the game we have been playing. We know the series we played, they had a couple of injured guys but that doesn't take anything away from the game we played or what we accomplished.
