1972 Harlem mosque incident describes the April 14, 1972 shooting of a New York City Police Departmentofficer at the Nation of Islam Mosque No. 7 in Harlem, Manhattan, New York City. The officer responded to a fake 9-1-1 call, was shot and died six days later. The incident sparked political and public outcry about mishandling of the incident by the NYPD and the administration of Mayor John V. Lindsay...
due higher hurricane market oil today trading
Oil is trading higher today due to the new hurricane fears. The big story of the week, which will be the market mover, is going to be the Fed.
broader likely range remain time trade trading
I think we're likely to remain in a broader trading range for the time being.
fed focus looks main minutes overseas sideways start strength strong suspect trading until
I suspect the main focus of the day will be the Fed minutes. It looks like we'll get a strong start on the strength in overseas markets, but we'll probably be trading sideways until the minutes are released.
ahead fed four hike hoping market obvious past point quite rallying rate rates reality sets trading
It's quite obvious that the market has been rallying for the past four days, hoping for a 50-basis point rate hike by the Fed -- and they (the Fed) did (raise rates that much). This indicates they are ahead of the curve, but now reality sets in and we're in a trading range.
basically believe book classical company leader low points selling stock trading trying value
Here is a classical story of a stock that is trading under book value. AT&T, the same thing. I believe it is up 4 or 5 points from its low and basically trying to stabilize at these levels, when it is all said and done, it still probably will be the leader of the pack. Again, a company selling under book value,
beginning believe correction decline demand disappear economy-and-economics lower major money phase saw seeing stocks sufficient taking tech though trading worst yesterday
I believe the worst of the decline in the 'old economy' stocks is over, ... and I think what we're seeing here is a consolidation phase, even though this consolidation phase is probably taking place at the lower end of the trading range. I don't believe that yesterday's decline in Nasdaq is the beginning of any major correction just yet. Now, that is not to say that we're not going to have a correction. Indeed, we are. But I just believe that there is sufficient money out there and sufficient demand for these tech stocks yet, and that is not going to disappear so quickly. What we saw yesterday was little profit-taking after a spectacular week.
bond looking market shoulder stay tail tight trading
It's the tail end of the month, so the market is probably going to stay in a tight trading range, looking over the shoulder of the bond pit.
fact lower lows market range risk technical tested testing trading volume
From a technical standpoint, the fact that the market is testing the lower end of the trading range with low volume suggests the risk of the yearly lows being tested increases.
continues drift economic good issues leads main market metals news obviously oil sea today trading translate worries
The economic news today wasn't good -- obviously it leads to worries of inflation. But that should have been expected, with oil and metals trading higher. It has to translate into inflation. The market continues to drift in a sea of uncertainty -- the geopolitical issues are still the main concern.
basically below fact good higher lift living market oil opening overseas prices trading yield
Basically we had some good overseas trading. I think that is basically propelling us to a higher opening here. I just think the market is living with the fact that oil prices are trading around these levels, and it's getting a lift from the 10-year yield being below 4.60 percent.
based catch economic good higher lack market move news next solid struggling trading volume
Right now, there's just a lack of solid trading volume out there, so we're struggling to move higher based on the good news we have. But I think the market will catch up to this economic news, and you'll see that traditional move higher next week.
breadth market
The breadth of the market is very negative.
holding indicate jury last pause week whether
The jury has been out over the last week or so over whether they will indicate that they are going to pause and I think that's what's been holding back the markets.
