Based on a thorough analysis of the five-year academic results at all 2,850 schools appearing in the Institute's Report Card on Ontario's Elementary Schools, we rated the schools on three categories of academic performance. The awards will be presented to the top school team in each category. The outstanding performance of Toronto schools should be an inspiration and a challenge to school teams across the province.

It's important to remember we're comparing results of Aboriginal students without reference to the general population. Relative to other schools (and based on the report), Carson Graham is not successful in ensuring that its Aboriginal students do well. But I strongly believe the report card provides the greatest benefit to schools that are not successful.
