We have nine venues that are active for us and the way it seems to work is that the Open comes to St Andrews about every five years and to each of the others about every 10.

I completely disagree. The Road Hole bunker has never been the same from one Open to the next. To say it has been ruined from what it was is completely false. I think that bunker has improved from what it was.

Because of the history of the Old Course, moving hazards is not the option it would be at many other places, ... You can't simply move a bunker here and there on The Old Course. All that leaves is to move tees.
eyes frequency golf likes open reasonable
Golf likes to come to St Andrews with reasonable frequency and when the eyes of the world are on St Andrews it does the Open a lot of good.
