best both came captains close felt interest jon leadership matt results serve since
We haven't had two captains since the 1984 season. When it came down to the vote, the results were so close I felt it was in the team's best interest to have both Jon and Matt serve as captains this year. I'm very comfortable with having the two of them in the leadership role.
game matt mistakes played solid
We made mistakes, but fortunately it's been well advertised that we have Matt Russell. I thought we played a solid game defensively.
bit boost both effort last looking teams validate
I think both teams are looking for something. They're looking for a little bit of a boost going into this last part of the season. I think we need something to validate our effort right now.
army army-and-navy behind close coming found impressed mental shows win
I'm impressed that Army has found a way to win close games, often coming from behind to do so. That shows mental toughness.
challenge designed environment honestly
It baffles me. I honestly don't know how they do it. They're put in an environment that is designed to challenge every part of their lives.
enduring game group himself honoring memory officials role understood
I think it's a very appropriate thing to do and I'm appreciative the officials group is honoring Scott in this way. My enduring memory of Scott is that he was always in it for the kids. He didn't take the game or himself too seriously. He really understood the role of a referee.
army army-and-navy fine pace push wants
If Army wants to push the ball, we'll push back. If the pace slows and there's a lot of six-on-six, we're fine with that, too.
great underneath
Huntley slipped underneath and scored a great goal.
concentration flattened focus liked longer played quarter second
I would have liked to see us play with more focus and concentration longer into this game. We played well in the first quarter and well into the second quarter, and then we just flattened out a little bit.
certain comfort five fourth game gives minutes possession quarter start won
Five minutes into the fourth quarter is when the game was won and lost. With a two-goal lead, if we start the fourth quarter with possession it gives you a certain comfort level.
momentum quarter second took
There were a lot of fouls in the second quarter and that kind of took our momentum away.
today
There were too many little things that didn't go our way today for us to come up with a win.
field games goals middle missing nice plays score strength success thanks today transition
Something I thought was missing from our first two games was our transition game. We were able to score some transition goals today thanks in part to our success in the face-off game. We also made some nice plays in the middle of the field which is a strength for us.
army-and-navy great john last sure walker
I'm sure John Walker is going to play great in his last Army-Navy game.
