This was kept in mind while planning this project, to stage getting the interchange done with Beck and the Haggerty bridge done before the start of the project on Sheldon. We want the entire M-14 project to be completed by Nov. 1, when the Sheldon railroad project could begin.

We've had portable message signs up for weeks, but regardless how much advance notice you give people, projects like this always seem to catch motorists off guard.

We're preparing to shift traffic from eastbound M-14 to the westbound lanes so we can rebuild the eastbound side, but there are problems with the pavement that have to be addressed first.

Traditionally we don't do sweeping in the winter months, but we've been blessed with a mild January.

The other two ramps which will be closed are from the southbound Lodge to north and southbound Telegraph.

We don't have the major $115-million investment we made in I-96 last year or the $120 million we invested over two years on I-94. This year it's spread out more, but it's still attending to areas with the greatest need for pavement repair and bridge rehabilitation.
