blinding fire god good hail send shall unless
Unless God send his hail / Or blinding fire balls, sleet or stifling snow, / In some time, his good time, I shall arrive.
splendor stung sudden
Stung by the splendor of a sudden thought.

And the sin I impute to each frustrate ghost/ Is - the unlit lamp and the ungirt loin.
brute deserve hated saw wicked
I never saw a brute I hated so; / He must be wicked to deserve such pain.

I would think the extra pair of eyes, extra pair of ears would maybe deter someone who may have decided to try something.
blot insult lost record sorrow soul task wrong
Blot out his name, then, record one lost soul more, / One task more declined, one more footpath untrod, / One more devil's-triumph and sorrow for angels, / One wrong more to man, one more insult to God!
