They (Alexander) came here expecting us to just bow down because of their reputation. Their coach and their team thrives on intimidation, but we weren't intimidated. Our ladies played their hearts out. In the last four innings, we looked like two heavyweight fighters going blow for blow in the ring.

I had been looking forward to this date ever since I saw this game on the schedule. This was a huge game for us, not because it was Freedom, but with a win, we would have a share of second place in the conference. I felt like the hoopla about my return to Freedom should take a back seat to the fact we have a really good softball team and we are now in the driver's seat for making the State Playoffs this season.

We are really a good team, and I have no doubt we will work through these struggles and be ready for conference play. I love these kids. They have a lot of heart. They just have to learn that when they step onto the field, they have to be focused and ready to play.
