As a school district we don't have any jurisdiction or any right to tell them what to do or how to do it. But we want to share with them that it can be a traumatizing experience for students to be pulled over. We don't want to get in the way of them doing their job, but we think it could have been handled differently.

Matt, of course, worked three years for us as a graduate assistant and I am well aware of his background and talents. I always try and keep an eye on young, talented coaches, and it was an easy decision to hire Matt. He'll hit the ground running with his previous experience at Northwestern and with me. It just popped out of place. I came inside so they (medical personnel) could pop it back in. Other than that, it's fine. I've never had the experience of it, and they didn't want to take the glove off because they didn't know if it was broken or not. It's just a little swelling, but I'm glad it's a dislocation instead of a broken finger.

He was antsy before we went out and couldn't hardly sit still. But for the first time out, he had some good stuff. It was a good start, but he knows there's some room for improvement.
