I think he deserves some more time to get through this. We've got some veterans that are hitting less than him that we keep running in there. There's been no talk, to me, on him not being here.

If Erik were at 80 or 90 pitches he would've stayed in. He's one of these guys who's going to carry us throughout the year and there's no use in stretching him out to a point where he doesn't belong.

He hasn't said anything to me. Until he mentions it, I won't even approach it. It does me no good to talk to him unless he really wants to do it. I don't think he's anxious right now to take a day off. Maybe later in September he will be.
