couple deserved good happens key rang shots sneak stopped
He stopped a lot of shots and a lot of key shots, point-blankers, I think we rang a couple off the posts. But that's what happens when you're having a good game. He deserved at least a (regulation) tie, at least a point. But we were able to sneak it out.
last shift
But we went out there on our last shift and said, 'We are going to do it.'
exciting few games last opening
I still think of my last few games here and how exciting it was in that arena, how electrifying it was. Hopefully, come opening night, it will be that same way.
bouncing brand break game hopefully ice shape takes week
Brand new ice contributed to that. It usually takes a week or two to kind of get back in game shape and the puck's not bouncing around and stuff. Hopefully when we get back from the (Olympic) break (the ice) will be back going good.
excuse grow
Now I have an excuse to grow a beard.
asked believe bigger contract sign supposed wait
I didn't believe it at first. I was supposed to sign a new contract that day, and they asked me to wait because they had bigger news.
almost face good hot left puck round skaters team teams winning
They've got a lot of good skaters who can put the puck in the net. They're a hard-working team and they've been winning left and right. They're one of those teams that you almost don't want to face in the first round because they've been so hot lately.
blank buried point shots tonight
The shots we had were right there, point blank and tonight we buried them.
body hard loss played second showing taking tough whether
I thought we played a hard 60 minutes, taking the body and showing a lot of second effort. We played really well, but whether it's 6-0 or 3-2, it's still a loss and that's tough to swallow.
knows played score
Tomas played remarkably. Without him, who knows what the score would have been.
paying played price puck
We were paying the price but the puck wasn't going in for us. (Auld) played well.
battle crazy feelings few highs last lows minutes rid seconds sinking
We were able to battle back in the last 40 seconds and get rid of this funk. The last few minutes were crazy (with) highs and lows (and) sinking feelings when they got their goal.
bunch goals good job names power puck shots stop three
We had a bunch of chances. You look at the names on our power play, and we should have two or three goals off that each night. Goalies can stop the puck if they are able to see it, and we didn't do a good job of that. We had a bunch of shots there at the end, and they just weren't going in.
good left support
We didn't give our goalie any support and we left him out to dry. That's a good way to lose.
