Despite not winning, a game like this will only make us better. As long as I can remember, Averill Park hasn't won a girls' basketball championship. We're looking to change that. Our motto is, 'One practice, one game at a time.' And that's not going to change.

At halftime I challenged them a little bit. We came out flat with a low energy level, but we were able to generate offense from our defense in the second half.

We had three chances to tie the game at 40 and it just didn't happen. We just couldn't get over the top of the mountain today.

Whenever we needed a lift, Rosie gave us a spark. She's tough inside and has the ability to handle the ball in the open floor. She's also able to hold the other team's best player in check.

We were caught off guard a little. We were disappointed with our defensive performance in the first half. You can't always tell how fast a team is on tape.
