game gave good great half last lost michigan separate step talent
The last two years we lost the first game of this tournament, so this is a big step for the program. Michigan gave us a good battle. They've got some great talent on that team. We did some good things in the first half to separate ourselves.
hurts proud
It hurts because you didn't want to lose, but someone always has to in the end. But I'm very proud of these ladies.
exciting good group job time
It's real exciting to be in the tournament. It's my first time with this group of young ladies, and we really have done a pretty good job this year.

Davenport and Hoskins put on a great display together. We got off to a poor start, and that pretty much sealed the deal.

I thought we really had a shot when we cut it to two. And then we made some not-smart turnovers. That's not how you're going to overcome a deficit. The next thing you know, it's a 10-, 11-point game again.
coaches fairly pleased
Overall, I'm fairly pleased. We're overachieving in some spots, but we need to be better in other spots. As many coaches say, I'm pleased but not satisfied.
beginning bodies helped press sure
I wasn't sure how we'd play, but the press in the beginning really helped get our bodies moving.
knock shots stepped took totally
(Minnesota) took Cyndi totally out of the game. Nikki (Smith) stepped in and was able to knock some shots down.

It was a great environment today. We're continuing to grow and get better.
battle feels players proud talked
It's just feels good. I never talked about it with my players, I'm very internal; but I think the players knew. Our team's always going to go to battle and that's what I'm so proud of.

Jenny has come back very well. She's really done a great job becoming a team leader. She's been just a workhorse.
adjusting contest defense finally key moving quicker run transition
I think the key for us is we finally started moving in our defense better, and adjusting and having quicker feet. And being able to contest every shot....We did that. We boarded and then we were able to run and get transition baskets.
