We would've liked to have won, but we knew we were just playing for position when we came in. It was one of those games, we had a couple of shots we missed that we probably should have made.

It was a dream of hers, just like it was a dream of mine, for me to make the Olympics and potentially medal. I carry a picture of her all the time. She'll be on the medal stand with me, if we get up there.

I instantly recognized the date of the medals game. It was incentive to me. It was a dream of hers to get to the Olympics as much as it was a dream of mine.
canadian curl european gets ice less normal pick reasonably room
Normally, European ice is straight, and Canadian ice gets a real big curl. A 4- or 5-foot curl is normal up there. When the ice is straighter, there's less room for error. If we had to pick between the two, we'd take Canadian ice, but were reasonably comfortable with the ice here.

We sat down a couple of nights ago, after we lost our second game, to Italy. We were disappointed with the loss, but one encouraging bit of news was that we knew we still had to play everybody who was ahead of us in the standings. We realized if we would win out, we'd get to the medals round..
