When we'd win the SEC we'd get back late and Deano would keep it open for us,
We felt like Blake is much better prepared mentally, physically. He's had an excellent summer working out, and it's clear to all of us here that he's our best guy to go out there. So when it's obvious, we've named him the starter. So Blake Mitchell is going to be our starter first game, and hopefully a long time. We'll go from there. Back-ups we don't know yet, we're trying a lot of guys right there. But Blake's earned it and he's our starter.
We're just looking at him over there, see if he can help us there. He'll probably be back at defense the next day or two.
What we know about them is they had a tough, struggling year last year, but that year is history.
So, we were able to throw, and run, the ball successfully, and play defense. And well, we won the conference six in my first seven years there.
He's still got a little ways to go, but he's got a chance. He's checking off and picking his guys out better. He should be close to really playing very well this year.
Our attitude is not as good as it needs to be here at Carolina, trust me. We're not there. We have a long way to go. We don't have a great team right now. We have a team that is sort of building. We have some building to do. We have some attitude adjustments. We've got to have some players who really care a lot more than they're demonstrating right now. It can be done. But it's a work in progress.
They've been very close. One of them misses class, the other one always misses. They never miss at different times. ... They were always together on all those lists of missing things.
It hurts more. You go on the road, nobody knows.
The way he ran the other day, I'd like to see him run again. We're just not making many yards. Maybe he can make some.
He's still officially listed as one of our coaches. We're not looking for a replacement right now.
Blake's much better prepared now than he's ever been and he's got a chance. He's checking off and he should be close to really playing well this year.
I haven't heard anything about it. I don't know if he busted (the window) out. I don't know anything about it.
I was wrong. The main reason I said it (a year ago) was to eliminate any excuses we had around here. (But) I didn't realize what other schools have done with facilities. We don't have everything in place.
