There are some holes on the course that I tried to hit my driver harder than I hit it all year,

It's about extending that good play as long as you can. You are pretty relaxed out there and you are in tune with what you are doing.

Everything feels more cramped and claustrophobic. Everything is so condensed and small, you have to be more accurate.

brain confidence hit hole near normally quite roll
I think the brain didn't quite communicate with the same confidence to where I thought I actually hit it. Normally when I hit a putt, I make it. Once you get them near the hole you just have to roll them in.

I'm happy to concede defeat. It's a two-horse race now.

It is a confidant feeling that you like the way your game feels. I find that every time I have played well and won, I have always had it going to the tournament.

I think that there was definitely a 6-under score had to be had out there by somebody. I was fortunate enough where my round wasn't clean and perfect, but there were enough shots where I hit it good enough to give myself opportunities and I had a couple of good breaks.

The fairways are fairly generous here. Enough players are finding enough pin locations.
contention golf quality trying
Absolutely. What I'm trying to do is get better at having a well-rounded game. I know that that quality of golf is going to put me in contention more often, and that's really what it is about -- being in contention.

The par-five I made a nice little five-foot birdie putt. That was a sneaky one down the hill. Then I chipped in from over the back of the green on six. It was a very difficult chip and it went in. That was a very fortunate shot there because I really was thinking four would be a good score to walk away with, so three was a bonus.
