heart lost match pride surgery third year
They were very sad. But we haven't had her all year long. (Thursday) was just her third match after surgery on her knee. We lost her after the first match of the season. But she's the heart and pride of this team.
fitness helped nervous realized
They were real nervous in the beginning. We got more into a rhythm, realized we could play with them and then I think our fitness helped us a lot.

That's the way the games always go. The players have a lot of pride and take this seriously. There's a lot of pride on the Newsome sideline. They've been to a final four. It's the same here.

I think it makes everyone want to raise their game. Honestly it's something that you can't teach. I think you're born with it.

She really impressed me as our captain. She really stepped up and made everyone feel okay. She didn't show disappointment (after losing in the finals) and she let her teammates know how proud she was of them.

This team is very resilient. Every week presented a new challenge, but I knew there was potential all along.
